Account Cancellation

You may cancel your account by sending email from the account to be canceled to accounts@berkeley.edu

Once an account is cancelled, login is restricted and all services (e.g. forwarding, vacation messages, etc.) are suspended. You files will remain on Socrates for a period of three months from the cancellation date. After the three month period, all files associated with the account will be deleted.

Socrates accounts are reviewed on a monthly basis for current UCB affiliation data provided to us by the Office of the Registrar and Human Resources. If your affiliation has expired we will send you email to let you know that your account will be cancelled. At that time you will have 2 weeks to remove any data stored in your account and update your affiliation if you are still on campus.
